Hello,

Sharing this wonderful budjak/bangkaw. A heirloom piece handed down from a patriarch of a family.

This came from a Moro family in Mindanao- but I'm not quite that sure if this is Sulu or Maranao. Appreciate your thoughts.

Description:
steel spearhead, brass collar with original spearhead sheath
OAL: 80 inches/ blade (excluding the brass collar): 14 inches
Shaft: kamagong wood

Kind regards,

Yves

Hi Yves,

Seems to be a very old one. Is the tip of the blade broken? And are you going to clean and etch the blade?

Regards,
Detlef

This might be Sulu based on the segmented sleeve section.

Hello,

I thought it has a broken tip. But upon closer inspection, it's not. The previous owner confirms that it has the original 'point' .

Cleaning and etching is considered. :-)

Kind regards,

Yves:D

Hi Yves,

Don't forget to post pics after the etch! ;)

Detlef
