Small addition to the sewar collection for sharing

Not long ago this small sewar entered my honest collection.
The handle is from hippo ivory, the mouthpiece and foot seems to be from whale bone, unknown material is the ring under the handle, two blonde wood halves for the stem. Blade has partly deeper pitting. 24 cm overall, 21 cm without scabbard, blade 15,5 cm. 100 gram.
Sumatra? Malaysia? I am a little bit unsure.

Nice one, Detlef!

From the scabbard, I'd be inclined to call it a Malay badik; also the hilt looks Melayu. The blade might have been brought over from Sumatra.

Regards,
Kai

Thank you Kai! Have had similar thoughts. And it coming from Great Britain so a Malay origin is nearby.

Detlef
