What are These Two Indonesian Knives, and Where From???

3 Attachment(s)
I picked up these two old Indonesian knives recently. They do not seem to perfectly fit any particular form, using primarily Zonneveld's Traditional Weapons of the Indonesian Archipelago as a reference.

Can anyone help with classifying exactly what these are and what area they are likely from?? Note that one has a hilt very similar to a Javanese keris.

The larger one is 17.5 inches overall, and the smaller one is 14in. inches overall.

Thanks in advance!

Nice pieces Charles, and they show nice age!

This is a siraui I bought for trading/swapping a while ago, but my daughter was pretty upset when I wanted to sell it, so I gave it to her as her first collectorspiece.
At the moment this one is standing in our livingroom on a tiny little socket. :-)

Total length is 6,5 inches ( 16,5 cm's), and not half so big as your tiniest one.

Rg,
Maurice

Thanks guys! I was very aware of the siraui, but was just not 100% sure these two fit the form, primarily because of the scabbard and hilt styles.

Thanks again!

Are these used edge-up in combat?

Hello Tom,

can't answer your question but I think that there are two types of this knife. The longer ones like Charles examples may be used as dagger and the one like Maurice ones or mine are maybe used as utility knifes but this is only my guess by the shape of the blades. :)

Regards,

Detlef
