Malayan knife, info please?

Again not my sort of thing. Quite heavy impressive looking with its silver? foil and carved lions head pommel. However it is fairly crude in construction. The finish to the blade is very basic and pins through the handle are a rather rough touch but it certainly works. The handle is plenty big enough for a westerners hand comfortable too. Blade 47.5cm. 20th century? If it is silver then I do not think it is high quality.

Tin foil but it looks nice and shiny.

Looks like a West Javanese Golok.

Agree With Michael, West Javanese Golok

Yes, its all says West Javanese, a modern style one (I guess late 20 c. to early 21 c.). Blade is monosteel, no pamor (damascene design). Pommel and scabbard's cross piece made of buffalo horn, which is the preffered material of the area. Foil usually were made of loyang, I think it is composed of mostly of brass mixture, then washed with silver.

Thanks. I knew it was not old. Having it in my hand I think it is at least a few decades before the 21 century it does have some ware and tare.
