Cretan knife with East Asian scabbard?

Dear members,
I just bought this small Cretan knife/dagger and it came with a worked wood scabbard. I already suspected that the scabbard may not be original. I asked Oriental Arms and he affirmed my suspition. My question is wether this style of scabbard look familiar to anyone?
I have never seen a similar scabbard, but I little about East Asian weapons, where worked wood scabbards are common (in contrast to Middle Eastern weapons). Could it be Philipine or Indonesian?
I will have better pictures when I get the dagger

Hi Eytan,

it's a puuko scabbard, I think from a Norwegian knife. See attached pictures.

Best regards,
Detlef

Thanks Detlef,
Despite my early suspitions, I was still hoping it would turn out to be original, because the style of decoration looked distinctly European. But I can see the clear resemblance to your second puuko and I am convined you are right.
When I looked I could not find any Greek of Ottoman scabbard that were anything like this one and then I knew it was a mistake. Lucky for me, not an expensive one.
By the way, European motiefs do not necessarily mean anything because they affected many Middle Eastern and Eastern makers, like in this little Ottoman hammam bowl I bought recently..

You still have the nice Cretan knife! Sadly without scabbard. ;)

Detlef
