African spear

Hello
I picked up this spear at a local car boot sale
I was told it was zulu but obviously not as it is socket attached rather than tang attached to shaft
I looks to have age and as you can see from the last picture my son liked it so I bought it
I am thinking it is from Congo from my back post searching but would anyone be able to confirm this
also do you think it is a large animal hunting spear?
Best regards
Ken

My guess would be a Sudanese Mahdi Spear ; probably a soldier's bring back war trophy .

...I agree. The shaft has been cut down - some are very long.

Hi people,
Thanks for information, nice to get some information on the spear
And the link was very informative
The shaft is not bamboo though but I presume there was a lot of variation on this
Interesting I live not too far wolseley,s old estate so a soldier bring back brings up some ideas.
Best regards
Ken
