I hope this will be of interest to others. This statue is from Java, and of the 9thC. The style has heavy influences from India (in concept), but the sword is very distinctive.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE WEAPON TYPE THAT MAY BE RELATED TO THE ONE IN THE PICTURE. I BELEAVE THEY MAY BE REFERED TO AS PATTANI. THE ONE PICTURED WITH THE FIGURE IS INTERESTING IN THAT THE CUTTING EDGE IS CURVED AND ON THE INSIDE AS WITH KUKRI AND KOPESH.
