Oh, i utterly hate replicas :o

Holy cow; oversized blade; could it be a fairly authentic bearing sword though?
Water might be the least of problems around a swimming pool; the chlorine outgasses; if you can smell it so can the rust demon! Chlorine promotes rust. |
I like the spears on the ceiling; visible, accessible, and out of the way.
In my house they might pick up quite the smoky patina up there :D |

This is my latest solution for big heavy items. I have a couple of long versions holding a lot more. I try to aviod storage made for specific items, as when you move them on, what you get back or have left mostly no longer fits the place.
Displays your toys and they are easy to get out and play with. |

in France ... fair prices for Plexiglas stand  completely hopeless, too narrow market, only 2 or three dealers, no competition  à + Dom |
Living as I do in rented digs, I find myself pretty well unable to display any items at all. The sad result is that my muskets are propped up in the corner, for no-one's pleasure save my own. Yet, in a way, I like that; there's a certain hint of the natural about them - as though they still stand ready for action, rather than having entered retirement...

Easy to grab one in a hurry and blast the intruder to smithereens!
Just keep them loaded, boy, keep them loaded :-) |
Sadly the UK's a little more cautious with it's gun laws than Michigan! ;) Though having said that, one can never guarantee that it's not - "I checked the bore, m'lud, honestly I did, and I swear I thought it was empty. My finger just slipped on the trigger, m'lud!"
Hell, even if it's empty, I'd love to see the look on some thieving scallie's face when he sees the muzzle of a jezail lined up on him! |
Leaning around in stacks and piles is the kind of reason why I avoid leather sheathed swords, for instance; just hard on them being haphazardly stored and concomitantly repeatedly moved. "display" type storage is not only good for showing; it's good for preserving and can be (traditionally is) good for access. In many traditional settings hanging something on a wall is a way to store it while keeping it handy.

Hi Gentlemen
I lift up this old post because, I did not see the need to create a new and, it's a pleasure to watch again, some fantastic collections ;) as far as I cannot have a room dedicated to my edged weapons, our flat is a "loft with mezzanine", where is our bed-room I'm obliged to disperse my blades all around the main room salon/dinning room, at least not easy to do a global picture taking opportunity that I'm bachelor till 2 weeks , I collected all the blades, and made a "flooring display" :p all my collection is here, some good stuff ... average, and "limit" ... as in the life  just a shamshir incomplete is "not showed", until his complete refurbishing  à + Dom |
