Hello,

Last 2 pieces appear to be from the Philippines??

First is flat on one side and convex on the other

The second is more sharply curved. the handle carving really reminds me of the statue of liberty torch---perhaps a WWII period patriotic piece??

Hello Matt,

Yes, the first is a Visayan talibon/garab; the other may also be from that area or the northern Philippines.

Both seem to be tourist grade with lesser workmanship and may well be GI bringbacks after WW2. It wouldn't hurt to etch the blades to verify wether the edge has been hardened (and the blade handforged) - at least the first one may prove to have a decent working blade after all.

Regards,
Kai
