VERY BEAUTIFUL WORK IT IS GOOD TO SEE AN ARTIST STILL DOING THIS HIGH QUALITY WORK TODAY.
I WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THE TOOLS YOU USE TWO OF THEM APPEAR TO HAVE STONE POINTS INSTEAD OF STEEL. IF THEY ARE STONE WHAT IS THE SPECIAL REASON OR TECKNIQUE WHERE STONE WORKS BETTER THAN STEEL? THANKS FOR SHARING THESE PICTURES AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. :D

Vandoo,

I am sure Sandeep will answer for himself, but the stones are agate I believe, for burnishing the work.

Sandeep,

I would love to watch you do this work! I could learn more about it in a few hours than I have ever learned by reading about it. Fantastic!

I have sent you a PM, with a question re. koftgari.

Best wishes,
Richard.

Such a simple set of tools to do such beautiful work .

I wonder if the stone points are burnishers ........

wow, that's amazing!

Do you also make the blades and armor or do you embellish them with koftgari?

I have been trying to do research on Indian smiths today that still make the traditional tools and weapons... not much readily available info. I know of NV Sikligar, Damascus Steel Supplies, and Royal Knives... I like katars but it's hard to find someone who could make on to my personal specifications. Thus far Damascus Steel Supplies seems the most likely, but we'll see. You have beautiful pieces there Sandeep, keep up the awesome job.

Thanks All !

I do mostly koftgari only and pretty busy with custom works, i dont get enough time for smithing.

KuKulzA28, what type of katar your lookin for? May be i can provide you.

Thanks

Sandeep
