Just got the message.
I never saw one like it. The lock, and the missing ring suggest 2nd half of the 19th century and the handle's overall shape and construction smacks of Italian to me, but this is just a guess. The blade may not be original as it appears to be roughly made in contrast to the well crafted handle.
Cheers

The tip on the machete is a modification of a factory blade.

Hi To,
The tip on the machete is a modification of a factory blade.
I wonder for what purpose - Functional or cosmetic?
Cheers
Chris
