I bought this knife on holiday in Kent about 15 years ago. Just re-found it in amongst some bits n bobs having not seen it in quite a few years. given it a bit of a clean up, remember it was old and grubby when I bought it and I kind of lost interest in it once I'd cleaned it up and so its been a bit forgotten since then.
Looks indian, but I've not seen another one like it. Its well made with a finely ground thick steel blade, horn handle with bone pegs, brass mounts etc.
Anyone know where they come from or if they are just last quarter 20thC for the tourists?
Thanks
Gene

That is a very fancy Indian or Nepalese hunting bowie style knife late 19th or early 20th century. Probably made for a British Officer.

Here is a link to more (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=607112)
they are still being produced, those are current production models. they have been asked by someone to make one like mine, and i've seen a couple very similar there since but not quite the same.
try a search here also on 'nepali bowie', some discussion in earlier threads...

Millie is an ex-racer, she had 75 races before she retired, won about 1/3, was in the money in 2/3, won a stakes race, and generally was one of the track kennel's favourites. Blue was a foundling, got picked up running free by the police when he was about 6 mo. old. they suspect he had run away from travellers (gypsies or romany) who use them for rabbit coursing. he's not as stocky as Millie, but has a bit more endurance. i've had him since he was 10 months old. millie i got at 2 1/2 yrs. old, they're both 8 now. i can trace Millies ancestry back to 1775 (Linky) (http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?d=balto+millenium&sex=&color=&birthyear=&birthland=) , Blue has a page there (http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?i=1038086), but not much on it.

Hi Wayne,
My girl here would like to know where you get the funky jim-jams. As you can see she has to keep her feet warm on the stove so the pj's would be a great help.
Thanks,
Norman and Sally.

a cutey like that deserves designer PJ's,
Blue and Millie have theirs custom made by StinkySuitcase, who sells them for £15 + £2.30 postage on ebay, she's got them there now, ebay no. 230314127898 and here's a linky.
Greyhound Pajamas (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Up-to-32-Dog-PYJAMAS-Coat-greyhound-whippet-xmas_W0QQitemZ230314127898QQihZ013QQcategoryZ20743 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
pick your own fabric patterns and send her the measurements, she made the two for my furry kids in 2 days and posted them & i got them the next day.
