Hey guys. New to the forum. Brought this back from the philippines on last visit. Not too much info on what it is. Rings are made of copper. Case is carved from the inside out and is one piece. It has brass sheet metal at the top. Brass band around where the blade is inserted in the handle, with two copper "rivets" 11 1/2" total.

Oh yes, Bagobo utility knife, although early in the literature it was called a "woman's" knife even though men carried it too.
BTW - Mabuhay and welcome to the forum! :D

It's a Bagobo knife called a Sangi. I've seen it described as a work knife, woman's knife & a grass knife. I've seen only pictures of men carrying it, either slung from the shoulder or in the small of the back. I don't know if it generally carried anymore or not. They pop up on ebay mostly from Davao City, where it seems a lot of newer Bagobo items come from.

Thanks for the info. This shop had alot of Keris knives, but they were all polished, and looked like "tourist" Keris. This one stood out as being real. I thought it looked kind of lonely, so I bought it. Looking back, I should have invested in at least one of the others. Oh well, hindsight is 2020.
