I was just wondering what does this sword resemble?
Where does the design originated. Any ideas?

Judging by the picture, it looks almost theatrical to me.
Is the blade "real"? The handguard looks flimsy; is it?
Smooth handle would not be good for fighting in a hot/humid climate. Scabbard... New?
I think better pics are needed to get some idea what we are talking about.

The ensemble was made around 1969.
Scabbard... 1969.
Sorry, this is the only picture that I have. :(
Locally, it's called, "Buaya Berenang", which literally means, a swimming croc.
