Lew,
Thanks for sharing the pictures.
How did they unearth an entire chariot? Was it dug in and stored underground as some kind of offering too?

I am not too sure but I think this was unearthed back in the early part of the 20th century I think by a farmer? I will do some research and get back to you soon.

What a feast. I just do not understand why the East African warriors with thier huge spears are not seen in the same light as classical warriors. My kind of day out with a beer or two.

Nice job with the pics Lew. Photographing piece on exhibition is alway a difficult thing to do and these look pretty good. :)

Thanks Lew
great pictures, made even more difficult with all that plate glass
Love the two Kopis ....surprised that there was no Khopesh amongst the Egyptian artefacts (both the Kopis and Khopesh are two of my favourite ancient weapons.)

Thank you Lew, wonderful pictures!!! Let me say that it's a shame that the Monteleone chariot, a unique masterpiece of the Etruscan art, is not in its original land.... anyway... there is also an african and indonesian section in the MET? thanks again
