Hello friends,
I picked this up on Ebay and received it yesterday. All rusted up, but it cleaned up fairly well. Thick blade that is 18" long. Overall length is 23.5". Scabbard and silver hilt show a lot of wear and dents. Horn (?) hilt is in great condition. Comments welcomed.

Nice example of this type. Looks to have a very clearly defined laminated blade.

Naw - it's just a big punal ;) (actually "gunong")

Very nice. Looks like the scabbard was originally covered in very thin (35g?) silver sheet.

Yes, the scabbard had paper thin silver sheet on it. The silver has an odd purple tint to it. The metal at the bottom seems brass.
