Good Day Gentlemen

Due to my stupidity, (question put about an object being the subject of an auction) my banissement was decided by the moderators, for a long very long period of approximately one year, tks God … and moderators, it’s over. :o

During this period, I wasn’t able to share with you my visit in Damascus - Syria and of my discovery of an extraordinary person, no AN ARTIST
"Rimon", specialist in the restoration in the Islamic swords. :p

Alex, who is a regular contributor here, had given of it me his address, I highly thank it. :D

Rimon showed me its « wonder », here some pictures about those swords ;)

Hi Dom. Welcome back. :)

By the way, the initial suspension for posting an active auction link is only 10 days. I think you ran into problems when you re-registered under other user names prior to the suspension expiration.

Best,
Andrew

Thanks Andrew for your nice words :D
I will not argument too long about the sanction, ... the law it's the law, even if it's hard :o

but, if I tried to re-registered under other user names, it's because, nobody give me notice of my banishment
as I wasn't informed, just I believed been facing a "bug" problem, no more
and, it's after at least, that I received a P.M. from a moderator with explanations :p

Regards

Excuse me. please, but what exactly do you mean by "restorer"?
Do the elaborate and fresh cartouches on the kilij also come from his workshop?

First and foremost - Welcome back Dom, and many thanks for the nice pictures, mentioning about my friend Rimon, and for your nice words.
Rimon is a real gentleman and a talented artist. It is sad that the person of such a rare caliber can not fully utilize his "commercial potential" being located in Syria :( I had a pleasure to purchase some of his swords and daggers, and regret not getting more, and I miss Rimon dearly.

Ariel, the "restoration" Rimon does entitles all aspects of reviving/repairing swords/daggers using as authentic and natural means as possible. He certainly can make coftgari stamps/inscriptions (upon request), but mostly he polishes/etches abused wootz blades, makes silver-chased scabbards and crossguards, etc. Most of my previous posts depict his work, and it puzzles most experts by looking 100% authentic. However, Rimon NEVER lies about his products and always authenticates what's old and what's not. A very rare quality among Middle Eastern artists/dealers!

I can post Rimon's email, address in Damascus and telephone numbers, if anyone would like to get in touch with him.

Hello Dom,
I would like to also welcome you back, and commend you for your very gentlemanly manner in the resolution involving an unfortunate situation, it is a quality too often forgotten in many matters these days.

I am also extremely impressed by the information and illustrations you have posted which are very encouraging concerning the prudent restoration of these Islamic swords. It is good to see these beautiful swords receiving the careful attention in restoration that they should.

All best regards,
Jim
