I got this kukri recently and it's different from any I have seen. There is the moon and sun of Nepal, and a character that I would like to know more about on the sheath. The all metal construction seems military. It's not big, but very solid. The blade looks old to me with some striations showing in a few places. It's seen a bit of use and is sharp. Any comments from the kukri guys are welcome.

Looks like the character "Aum" in the center of the Sun. A closeup would help confirm. "Aum" is a universal cosmic mantra in Hinduism.

Thanks, Karni. That makes sense. It's not very visible in the pic, but the point of the sun closest to the middle of the crescent ends in an arrow head point. I can't find that variation on any flags, crests, or emblems from Nepal.
