View Full Version : Early Persian wootz blade

Ok. I apologize in advance for all the posts but I think it will be fun to share some examples of wootz to discuss with the guys making the stuff today. This first example is an early blade and by the bold pattern of high contrast and complex pattern, I would identify it as Persian. What probably does not show up in the pictures as I would like is that the blade has a very blackish hue with silvery dendrites. The silver really pops out nicely when you get the blade just right in the light.

The secret is you must quench the blade in tomato sauce in order to achieve the proper temper. :D

Spelling corrected :D Ariel I rather have a nice noodle kugel but not a sweet one. My mom made it with fried onions and a little salt and pepper :D

A nice pasta linguini pattern - my favorite so far.
(BTW - it's spelled "K Pasta?" :p )
