Better pictures would be helpful. If it is PI, I would think more recent. Perhaps recent Spanish? Certainly looks Spanish influence (not unusual for this region of the PI).

I almost bid on this one myself but couldn't quite figure it out either. What is the grip made of horn, wood, bakelite or plastic?

The hilt is a dark brown wood possibly kamagong? It had a nasty spliit in the hilt on on side but I was able to seal it up with good old super glue. The blade is heavy probably made from an old file or something. The ferrule is thin brass with a braze line on one side. All in all a nice dagger for $20 or in Tim's case three fish and chips. :)

Maybe not 3 portions. 2 both with a pickled egg. Nice buy.
