Thought I would share some pictures of someone's kris that I recently restored. As you can see in the before pictures, I got the puppy in pretty bad shape. I was honored to bring it back to life.
Enjoy - Battara :D
PS - pictures to follow :)

Grrrrr, (mumble, rumble)
Why don't we all visit Jose?
Just go over there and see the kris? All crowd into his living room.
He's not that far from Georgia. Hmm gotta talk with him about a Moro hilt, and a certain yataghan......

Just some background notes:
1. the blade was heavely rusted so I had to grind, polish, and etch it
2. the hilt was in pieces as you can also see in the pictures. I had to cut, rehilt the pommel, then make the silver upper and lower parts, then rewrap.

Super job Jose!
I really appreciate when a piece is restored without losing its historical intregrity. That is exactly what you have done here.
In other words it looks as it once looked without looking "new".
Again, super work.

Thank you very much Charles. This is the fun for me, to try to bring back the soul and glory of any piece. This is my goal for any piece I work on.
