Hi, An American friend with a mutal intrest in the Mazar I sharif arsenals weapons, is looking for a translation on this old Afghan made martini.

We think the date is 1319 but what does the script say? any help would be appreciated.

Also noticed Artzi just sold this Shamshir on ebay with remains of the Mazar stamp {crossed cannons & base of one pillar.} just visible but made of sham wootz.

Another form of weapon from this arsenal! So thats, Rifles, bayonets, kukri, cavaltry sabre, shasqa & now shamshir!

I hadnt realised the Afghans produced sham wootz as well as ordinary wootz, & I find it fascinating that it was bieng made like that at the late victorian time period in agoverment arsenal. Or were they taking in blades from other sources & stamping them?
