Hello everyone,

I recently acquired this lovely dagger with bone handle,
I think it's North African, possibly Tunisian?
Does.anyone know the hallmark ?
Maghreb, Spanish and ottoman influence I fînd.
For the date, I believe it's 1309, which would place it in 1891 or 1892.
I would be very grateful if you could help me pinpoint its exact origin.

Best regards

Hello,
Years ago, I saw an almost identical dagger at a flea market in Ankara. Therefore, I believe it comes from the region of Anatolia (or possibly from the Aegean region, considering the floral motif...).

Hi
The blade looks like Greek Ottoman kindjal as proposed.
The hilt is more African as you said...

Excellent,
thank you very much Martin and Patterson for your messages.
For my part, I found very different information.
Identical handles for a dagger from the Balkans,
another that looks very similar but is said to be Hausa from Nigeria... I think the website clearly went off track...🙃
