Hi,
I bought this knife in a lot of Indonesian weapons but I am not sure if this is an Indonesian knife or a Piha Kaetta from Ceylon/ Sri Lanka.
Any info is welcome.
Regards, Martin
I am sorry the pictures ain’t very good but they were downloaded from the auction house.

Hi Martin,
It's in my humble opinion a Sri Lankan knife and belongs to the Phia family. If it's a Piha Kaetta I don't know, there are several different knives in this family.

It could be also a Mahout dagger called "kirichchiya" from Sri Lanka, see here: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=27080&highlight=mahout

Thank you so much Detlef, and I will visit Peter soon to show the knife to him. The knife is a by catch for the Dua Lalan I wanted.

There could be missing something at the hilt from your Sri Lankan knife, I am unsure.
Please show us the dua lalan in an extra thread or in the dua lalan thread! ;)

Detlef
