It looks like a nicely made blade that etching will reveal a nice layered pattern in

Given recent prices for ivory-hilted kris this one was a relative steal. :rolleyes:
More in keeping with how these swords were valued a year or two ago. Maybe the mislabeling of this piece and the current depressed market in swords kept it from going higher.
Like rhysmichael I had a small flutter on this one but did not come close. I did pick up its companion from the same dealer:

I think mine has some age although it needs a little care and attention. The small punto and the style of scabbard struck me as perhaps Yakan in origin -- any thoughts?

Yeah I did see them both. Just not interested (actually don't have the money :o ).
The first kris seems to be of a more recent time with possible exception of blade and wranga.
The second I will have to do some digging (not with the kris though :p ).

agree with battara. appears to be like one of those ermita special, lol, only this was from the 40's, even 50's...
