Sharing pictures of very nice scabbard. Appriciate any other references to similar ones and identification.
It's very solid and originally was gold plated.
My assesment: potentially italian storta scabbard.

It looks sort of a theatrical thing to me. Workmanship quality and durability seems poor. Metal sheet is too thin.

I have some other old items and certainly durability of that scabbard is significant in comparison to others I have. Inside there is a wood. Outside covered with velvet..and seems cut, repoussed brass. If it wouldnt be partially demaged, I would say very solid. From XVIIth to early XVIIIth century for sure

It seems a scabbard for a knife. Can you specify size and material ?? Theatrical replica could be a good guess.
