The blade was in bad shape, uncared for. It took some time to clean it up. When I rinsed it under hot water, signs of lamination appeared.

The brass bands around the handle seem to be a retrofit. It doesn’t look to be Philippine made. Blade length 19.75 in. False edge 15 in., partially sharpened.

Ginunting? Ginuntings have a slightly curved blade, with the edge on the inside of the curve. Yours looks more like a parang or klewang...My Ginunting below for comparison.:

Wayne, I think that kino is showing us a ginunting-like sword with a long "swedge" along the back edge that may or may not be sharpened. The primary cutting edge is not always curved in my experience.

It looks closer to the traditional ginunting of Panay, which is not curved. In any case, within the Philippines alone, there are many blades that have similar profile like "sinampalok" of Tagalog and Bikol regions, "binulang/tinari" of eastern Visayas and Caraga, and so forth.
