Unusual Pommel

Dear All,

does anyone have an idea on this pommel. It‘s made from brass or bronze and gilded. I can‘t remember having seen that shape. The pattern seems ~1600 to me. It is a ground find from northern France. Is it a real thing or historism or so?
Size is 64x43mm.

That seems to be a hard nut to crack. Let me write down my thoughts after browsing on- and offline resources:
Those gilded copper/brass alloy or bronze guards and pommels seems to be famous on 15th/16th century swords. E.g.: https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/35716

The deocaritve pattern reminds me on some late 16th century sowrd decoration I´ve seen in a book.

But I couldnt find any similar example anywhere. I would guess it is a pommel of a noble sword from the early 16th century... But widely without any hard facts.

Not an exact match, but below is the closest analogues I've been able to find in Forrer's "European Sword Pommels" (the flat renaissance ones, second row left). Unfortunately the subscript is the only information given.

Actually I did order that book yesterday :) That´s a perfect match! Thanks a lot. The decoration of the depicted pommels fits as well.
