Maybe a small point but the blurb somewhere refers to the sword being manufactured by the process of casting on. Meaning that the blade was made first and the handle hot cast onto the tang. This is also seen in some Luristan swords. In the photograph the difference in the patina seems quite marked. One theory is that blades were deliberately work hardened by being hammered after casting.
