my latest find
Knife 27cm
Blade of fine Wootz steel, with gold koftgari
Handle is three-piece and made of brown jade with gold inlays. the end of the handle is decorated with a red agate (?).
Silver scabbard, unfortunately the tip is missing
I would like to hear the specialists' opinion on this knife and a translation of the writing would certainly be very helpful.
thank you all for taking the time.
greetings from Switzerland

Hello chregu
Congratulations! Magnificent knife.
I asked for my friend's help in translating. Here is what he writes:
Well known saying for Turkish (Seljuk) thinker and statesman Ahi Evran:
Gelen gelsun saadetle, Giden getsun selametle.
كلان كلسون سعادلة، كيدن كيتسون سلامتلة.
Translation: Everyone is wellcomed to be one of us, however, we welkcome his leaving us if he asks to leave.

Hello Turkoman. khan
thank you very much for your quick answer.
so the knife would have to come from the area of today's Türkiye? from around the middle of the 19th century? what do you think?

Hello Chregu
I think this is the center of the Ottoman Empire (today's Turkey) and I think this is the 18th century

Hello Turkoman.khan
Thanks a lot for your help
I am fascinated by the brown jade handle, which is rarely seen. I still have a curved dagger with an identical handle. but this is currently in an exhibition.
