Hi everyone I'm a new keris collector. I just recently got this keris from an auction, what can you guys tell me about this keris? it has a mixture between pamor miring and pamor mlumah the garap looks decent so I thought it's a rather interesting keris.

Welcome to the forum Wijaya.
It is an interesting keris. I suspect that despite the current dress the blade originates elsewhere, perhaps Madura. Would be nice to see this blade in full stain if you have access to warangan or some person who can do that for you. I'd like to see this pamor in full stain.
The hilt is not oriented properly for this dress form. The hilt should be turned 90 degrees as shown in the photo below.

This is likely my inexperience talking but something about this blade is giving me the impression that it's Java influenced but not entirely mainline Javanese. The sorsoran area looks peninsula or north coast. Hoping this spurs more discussion and responses.

Welcome to the forum!

IMVHO, garap seems to fall short of any traditional Tanah Jawa standards. Thus, it might be tough to ascertain any origin.

The pamor seems to be surface-manipulated mlumah.

Regards,
Kai

Wijaya your keris seems to have a very nice pamor:)
I think is better to change the Yogya pendok with another Solo pendok
Nice blade!!

Yes Kai.

It is well & truly outside of any standard form that I recognise, it is the combination of characteristics that is a sticking point for me, they just don't fit together.

The pamor is surface manipulated mlumah, however, I do feel that an in-hand examination would indicate that it has some age.

I can only add that this is a wonderful pamor, it looks very well controlled to me.

It would be nice to see this blade again after warangan. ;)
