Ordered online and arrived today, hooray! Just as described by the vendor, and no real issues. I would put it in the category of a genuine item reworked or adapted for later use, and possibly for those who travel.
Mounts may be low grade or coin silver, hard to tell until it has a bit of tarnish on it.
Vendors photo's but the piece in reality is no different. (Something that is not always the case, bigod).

Hello,

the dagger itself looks like an older one. The scabbard is probably added or repaired later.
To me it's a nice piece.
The handle could be rhino, can you make better pictures (also from above)?

Yes I agree...looks to be a nice old piece. Even the silver? on the scabbard looks to be old...certainly not the usual thin white metal so often seen these days

Modern day southern KSA.

Good piece, made of different parts, the chape and locket are Omani. They reuse older parts quite often.

Thank you for that information. It explains the differences this has from the other Jambiya I have had, purportedly from the Yemen.
