Hello dear members,
I just won in an auction a strange ''weapon'' called in german ''luntenspiess''
a long pike with two side steel parts ,
Not really a polearm,
for the few informations I found,
they were used for light cannons ,
a wick was burning on both side...
dated 1714,...
old ''deco'' piece ?
really used for ''cannons'' battles ?...
I will receive it soon...

Here’s a gunner’s linstock I spotted in the Stockholm Army Museum today, including the wick.

Hello,
Thank you guys for your comments !!
I think there are missing two small screw piece for fix the wick...
For take it back, I will merit it :
The auction house is 500km far away from home and it's really difficult/impossible for them to send it because it has a really long handle:
more than 250cm long overall...
a interesting return trip, hoping it's ok to place it diagonally in my car ;) :D
Kind regards

Reminds me of some of Jim's stories about driving with pole arms in small vehicles!

Hello,
I finally got it !!
post some pictures,
some remains of engravings, on the ''heart''
curious fantasy shape isn't it ? ?
On one side a face, on the other a date, maybe 1714
