Hello, i always thought that this military looking flintlock musket has a little different than usuall shape in the stock. Today i noticed a hollow engraving on it that states "1657"!! It seems that the shape corresponds with the date, what do you think? I find another relevant post in this forum and a musket with the same date seems very similar.

This appears to be the standard 1777 pattern. That number in the stock is not the (factory) year but some (personal) number mark.

Hi,
Yes, appears to be a standard Charleville 1777 type, see attached photo, as Fernando has noted. This design was used throughout this period by various countries. This link shows a Dutch 1815 pattern musket based on 1777 design https://collections.royalarmouries.org/battle-of-waterloo/arms-and-armour/type/rac-narrative-271.html
Regards,
Norman.
