Hi,

This keris hilt looks to be Nawa sari and is quite small, maybe 2 1/2 inches or so. It looks polychrome, maybe there was gold color paint int he past and while the features may not be clear, it does has some finely carved negative spaces to articulate clothing.

I don't know if it was meant to dress keris. Is there any info on small keris hilts in general?

Thanks!

Apolaki, I suggest that you might look at the previous hilts that have been identified as Nawa Sari and see if you can match the attributes of those hilts to this one.

Thanks! From the past discussion, the Nawa sari identified had the pudak flower, but this one is missing it although the body is in the same position. that was the only main identifiers I saw from the past readings. Did I misidentify this as Nawa sari?

Apolaki, I think that perhaps if you read past posts dealing with Nawa Sari you might be able to answer this question yourself.
