I have never shown this very chunky Luzon bolo which I have already some time in my collection. The 31,5 cm long massive blade is 7,5 mm thick at the spine near the handle and taper at the middle from the blade to belly out at the tip to max. 5 mm again, so quasi is the tip reinforced, the edge is still razor sharp. Blade is fitted with a horn handle and an integral ferrule/bolster from brass, the tang is peened over a brass cap.
The beautiful leather scabbard is in very good condition and very nice embossed at the scabbard mouth.
Want to know your estimation regarding age and exact origin. The bolo is 52 cm long inside it's scabbard and 50,5 cm alone.

Greetings! I was puzzling out this piece at Worthpoint a month or two ago. In my conjecture, this was from Apalit, timeline estimate would be 1910-1940s. My basis for the origin is the scabbard throat-flap and the hilt, which are characteristic of Apalit weapons around that timeline.

Thank you Xas! :) The Apalit origin I have supposed, nice to get it confirmed. By the age estimation I was a little bit earlier with around the centuries but not very far! ;) :D
