Dear members, newly commissioned Lombok made hulu for your viewing pleasure. I suppose if I am not born in Singapore, I would be a craftsman.

Very nice. I thought these hilts were Balinese, not Lombok.

Lombok was a colony of the Balinese Karangasem kingdom until the end of 19th century...
Very nice work indeed, who is the maker, Pak Muh or his successor?
Regards

As Jean points out, the line is sometimes thin between what is Bali and what is Lombok as Bali controlled much of Lombok for sometime and greatly influenced the keris found there. I would not be surprised to find one of these gerantiman hilts on a completely Bali ensemble, but often enough they seem to be associated specifically with Lombok keris.
It is nice to see such good craftsmanship still being applied to this hilt form in the current era. :)
