View Full Version : Dayak hornbill identification. What is it?

I know that this is dayak and made of hornbill but I can't work out what it actually is. These are usually earrings and have the bent over top and no hole. Can anyone help please?

IMHO this doesn't look like Dayak carving...

It is a hornbill ivory carved piece, used as belt buckle of a mandau.
Super patina by the way! Very old

Used like this, to buckly up a mandau around the waist...
