This morning I got fotos of a long certainly European flintlockpistol with a brass barrel and an unknown mark on it. Is anybody here able to tell me the meaning of this mark and the nationality of the pistol??

Hello
In my modest opinion, CH corresponds to Charles (Charles) and BV to Bavaria

I found the solution:
The mark on the pistol's barrel stands for "Christian Hauns of Kopenhagen" (Christian Hauns Boeoessemager Vaerkstedt). Hauns was certainly not the maker of this pistol, but probably its repairer. You can find his mark mostly on Percussion locks für cannons. The pistol might be of Dutch or British origin and was IMO made for the captain of a trading ship.
