Hi. Which state has the largest number of antique dealers, preferably dealing edged weapons, among the Gulf states like Dubai, Abu Dabi, Qatar, Kuwait etc..? I mean both for buying and selling edged weapons.. If I want to go for an exploration trip, which ones should be the first to visit in my list?

Is it legal
1- To take edged weapons abroad by plane, from UAE ,Oman, Qatar etc.?
2- To send edged weapons to these countries by mail?

Just make sure you don't take them as hand luggage in the cabin.
Also hanging them by your belt might be a bad idea. :D

What if I hire a jet for myself? :D
In fact I am more interested about the rules concerning shipping edged weapons to those states...

Erlikhan,
I think swords can be a very delicate subject in some Arabic countries which I understand is due to ancient Ottoman laws (?), so you probably know something about that already. I think you should definitely find out exactly what applies before doing anything. Dealing with the UAE authorities should be a good first port of call. Contact the UAE authorities online and ask them in the English language for advice.
Bakarat antiques shop in Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi is quite impressive.

I always found ( unsurprisingly ) these countries to be far more expensive to buy from than buying the same objects in Western countries ... I have also struggled to find actual old ( antique ) examples of weapons for sale ..... plenty of 20th C stuff and modern blingy stuff, but antiques few and far between. You stand a better chance of finding really old & affordable examples of weaponry in the West than in the Gulf in my opinion.
