Just as I am thinking of selling a large section of my collection it sems hard to truley stop. This really nice piece arrived today. Not 19th century but still an early version. There is a little damage caused by worm or insect emergence.

I could quite easily change my mind as to how recent these might appear to be. Grasses like hair can withstand time with very little change is kept safely. As these 19th century example from the Pitt-Rivers show.

These still look like great examples. Are they perhaps ceremonial?

Yes they are from the early 20th century. I think they are pre 1940 at least possibly much earlier? . The new one has a good patina. I can make comparison with some large clubs that would be less questioned. As to ceremonial possibly but tfunctions very much like Fijian Ulas except better in my mind. The only one that perhaps would not function as a weapon as good as the rest in the smallest. However they are all heavy solid things that could easily split your scull break your facial bones and end your restistance.
