What a spectular piece Rick. I cant add anything to what you know I am sure, but can you tell us a little more about the dimensions and regarding the metuk, is that a composite or inlay.

A very beautiful tombak Rick. Recent, dress and blade, but a very nice piece.

This blade is 16 1/4 inches from tip of pesi to tip of blade.

At the base from ron dha to ron dha it is 1 1/2 inches.

The blade at it thickest point, immediately above the metuk is 16/20ths. of an inch.

The metuk is 22/20ths. of an inch circumference.

The gold work is kinatah, that is, the Javanese style of koftgari.

Hello Kerislovers,

wonderful tombak. Nom noman Surakarta, probably Empu Jayasukatgo ?
Very typical the general form of the blade and the pamor. Strong kembang kacang with typical jenggot and ri pandhan of nom noman blades. Typical waduk and bangkekan and well choosen pamor. Only the quality of goldwork is far behind of the blades of Sultan Agung period.

Seldom we can see pieces like this in this forum and I wait for more !!!

Congratulation

Every part of this tombak (blade-wise) is so well-detailed and proportioned, and in superb condition too. Thanks to Rick for sharing! :)
