Renaissance dagger?

I bought this dagger offered as beeing from the time of the Renaissance. I am not quite sure of this and am waiting for your comments.

The sheeth is leather which was totally dryed, stiff and hard. I treated it with "Vaseline" and so it got more voluminous and softer. The wooden grip was certainly wrapped with leather whis is gone, but the symmetrically arranged nails are still there.
Total length is 330mm, length of blade is 190mm

How thick is the blade? Looks like it may have been re-purposed? Its obviously had acid on it but for cleaning or aging?

At the edge it has 1,0mm, at the ridge in the middle of the blade 5,8mm. The rough surface of the blade has perhaps had acid on it but I think it might be tannic acid of the leather of ist scabbard.

More likely it was heavily rusted and got cleaned with some acid or de-corroder.

I'm a little surprised that the nails are not rose headed for how nice the rest of it is.
