The straight bladed one looks heavier than usual , with a nice scabbard, you will post more pictures when you receive them.

I should have them in a few days I will post better pics at that time. Btw the seller claims that the straight one has a 23" the other a 20" blade? That seems quite long for these types of daggers.

Based on the size of the handles, I would not be surprised if the length was in cm, not inches

Lew,

Could it be that the straight knife has a Touareg blade ? On the picture on ebay I can distinguish the typical half moons.

Perhaps this is a cutdown swordblade ?

Hi Guys

The two daggers arrived today. Hear are some pics. The straight one's scabbard has a copper or silver chase and throat and something arabic embossed in the leather? The blade on the straight one is 9" long and the curved one's blade is 7.5" long the seller was using cm not inches in his description.

LewHi Lew, all I could see is something like the number "2" embossed.
I don't see anything else. Am I missing something here?

Alam

It looks like the letter that makes the kha in Arabic?

If it's inverted, than it makes the letter "ha", the 6th letter of the Arabic characters or "kha" the 7th letter with the dot above. By itself it doesn't make much sense, though. Sorry.

I like the straight bladed one a lot, the loop on the scabbard looks like it is older or had more use than the other one. The letter/symbol might not have anything to do with Arabic? How heavy is the blade?
