This axe has found its way into my collection. It has 6 markings on it resembling a star pattern with a + in de the middle. This is done in the Gothic trefoil manner. The blade is slightly curved and the top has a hook like structure.
The haft is modern made, by me, but should portray the correct look?

Guns are more my area so i must admit that this axe is a total mystery :D

The blade measures 31 cm long by 11 at the bottom and 14 at the top. The reconstructed haft is of pearwood and 86cm long.

Does anyone know more about this type of axe?

looks like the blade is offset & right handed, like a hewing axe (see your ref. link no. 1.) used for squaring beams and timbers.

Appears to be a very early doloire, possibly late medieval.
Haft should be much shorter, about half that size.
