New item to my collection Armor piercing dagger .Seems to be some what Rare, wootz blade and some copper weld? The engraving is a name have not nailed it down yet any info would help.A close up of the letters does not appear to be chiseled but some type of acid etching?Any thoghts on this Knife would be great.

Very nice one!
I am intrigued by the "ears": is it a late Ottoman influence or a reflection of a common ancestor?

That's exactly what I had in mind:-)
Not necessarily Central Asian in its immediate origin, but that's where Mughals came from, just like Seljuks.

I noticed that the inscription is etched into the wootz blade.
You could be on to something regarding the "ears".

Edward, that is a nice shape, as for the copper/brass weld, I recently saw a similar copper/brass weld on the handle of a haladie, this is something I have not seen before, has anyone else seen this.

the brass stuff: it's brazing. easier than welding, and is at a lower temp.
mine also has 'ears' - ? for your thumb when stabbing down ?
