I am in the process of cataloging each of the items in my small collection and would like to invite comments and opinions about this Keris. It is the last of the four that I have to post, and I saved the best for last. It is from the collection Spunjer is offering ( http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=20143 ). It is "hands down" the best Keris I have, and one of my favorite knives. I think it is from Java and dates to the first quarter 20th. I'm frequently wrong though so please let me know what you think. TIA!

Hello Harry,
Some replies about your kris:
. The scabbard is in gayaman style from Yogyakarta, and the crosspiece has a valuable kendit band (genuine or dyed?).
. The old wooden hilt is in raksasa (demon) style from the pesisir (Java North Coast). The selut and mendak are of common quality.
. The blade has 13 waves and is old but of common quality, the dapur is not a standard Javanese type (pejetan, tikel alis, sraweyan, and remnants of greneng), and the pamor pattern is rather indistinct.
A good old piece overall IMO.
