Hi Everyone,
I have had this knife for a long time but have never known its origin. It is a very plain knife but beautifully made. I think the blade is Wootz and may be Persian due to it`s waisting in from the hilt, shape and perfectly defined central rib. The horn handle also has, in my opinion. some prsian features such as the radiusing of the top and bottom horizontal sections of the hilt with the vertical grip and yet the small drilled tang extension is an Indian and Afghan feature.
I would be most grateful for your opinions.
Regards. Miguel

Miguel, I totally agree with you. A nice example of Indo-Persian jambiya. The horn handle is Indian in my opinion, and the blade is more Persian in form, although well could be Indian. hard to venture a definitive answer, but inclining towards Indian). have you test-etched it?

Thanks for your comments Alex, I think that you may be correct in thinking Indian. It is the hilt that steers me to think Indian also. I have not tried the polish and etch test as I like it this way.
Regards
Miguel
