I am a new user to the site and need help with the mei on a sword I own. To the best of my knowledge it can be attributed to Kanetaka but I am no pro either. I am looking for the opinions of others as to the mei of this sword. Here is a pic of the tang:

I would appreciate any information that anyone may be able to give me on the maker of this sword. Thanks!!!

Welcome, L.A. :)

Someone here may be able to provide a translation for you, but I'll jump in with advice to provide some more photos of the entire sword, including close-ups of the blade if you want some real opinions.

Where did you come by this sword?

I believe the mei reads:

Noshu Seki ju Kanetaka

A WW II period smith from Seki City in
Noshu Province.
