Too late by far to be the first to replicate using 3D printing.

It does indeed happen for replicating, but this was the first time I'd run across a museum using it for a display piece. In terms of home printing, using any material other than plastic is still beyond the capabilities of most consumer oriented printers.

The combination of high quality 3D scanners being used in archaeological work and the better and better printing capabilities I think are going to lead to ever increasing numbers of these sorts of recreations for exhibition.
